I love animals and they love me! How many other people can say the same about their jobs and the people they work with? There is something deeply fulfilling about knowing that, even in a complicated and unkind world, you’ve managed to create a pocket of perfect security and bliss for at least one small creature.

My favorite thing about animals is that they make me happy. And, despite all the seeming effort involved, the truth is that it’s easy to make an animal happy. When my dog has his favorite food, toys, and a lap to cuddle in, he’s so deeply happy he practically radiates it! If there is a purer, less complicated joy than that of making an animal happy, I have yet to experience it.

When I was young, my family adopted a black lab mix named Midnight. For 13 years, Midnight truly was “man’s best friend” as he was loyal, loveable, happy and friendly. Today, I have a 12-year-old Japanese Chin named Jack.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, La., and first moved to The Woodlands, TX, in 2000. After graduating from The Woodlands High School in 2005, I moved to Baton Rouge, LA to attend Louisiana State University. After spending 12 years in the Red Stick, I moved back to The Woodlands in August 2017.

In my previous jobs, I advised nonprofit organizations and government entities in strategic communications, marketing and stakeholder outreach efforts.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking my dog Jack out on the trails for long walks and attending concerts (my favorite band is The Revivalists!). I also love Sunday dinners with my family and taking yoga classes to stay in shape.
